Review Summary:

Besides the security of having a video camera to monitor your child or elderly or infirm person, the Motorola MBP36S Digital Video Monitor has 2.4 GHz FHSS and crystal clear sound. You will be able to hear your baby breathing and his/her every movement. With SIDS a nightmare to contemplate for every new parent this device will ease their worries.

This is a top of the range model with many desirable features. It is wirelessly operated and comes with parent and baby units, rechargeable battery and wall, plug in charger. After 2 minutes of inactivity the apparatus will switch to power saving mode. The camera has a 300 degrees viewing angle plus pan and zoom features. It is very highly recommended that you have a strong firewall set up and change passwords regularly and that you check regularly that the firewall is operational. The monitor is portable and boasts infrared night vision technology. It has a 200m outside range too so perhaps you could be getting on with the garden or attending a barbeque.

The monitor has a temperature monitor and display, it has 2 way sound so you can speak to your child and sooth her from another room, or have a conversation with an infirm or elderly relative. It’s also useful where there are 2 helping hands and you have forgotten to bring something with you to the baby’s room. Extra features include several polyphonic lullaby functions including white noise and nature options.

The video screen is 3.5” across and the device weighs 558g. The dimensions are 10 x 9.8 x 10.5 cm.  The monitor can be wired up to four different cameras. There is a Led display on the monitor with 5 sound level indicators so you will hear everything from your baby stirring and breathing to loud cries. The 2.4 GHZ FHSS technology has a stronger wireless connection than earlier cordless models and there is less chance of the signal cutting out or weakening and there is an alarm which sounds when you are out of the 200m range.

Several customers said the battery offers little charge only running for an hour or so with the video on but lasts longer when you switch to audio. Others said the power cable became faulty and someone else that the camera was faulty. Several people had to send it away to be repaired but once repaired they found it a very useful device. Many commented on the fantastic two-way audio.
