Review Summary:

The Keekoon model is top of the range. It concentrates on high quality audio and video in HD format. In addition you can connect it to your phone or tablet (Apple and Android). Featuring Keekoon's distinctive brand styling and robust build quality, it is recommended for the parent who want a top of the range product

Although the Keekoon H.264 HD P2P is not necessarily a dedicated baby monitor, it has one of the highest user ratings for a wifi-connected surveillance camera system which can be monitored on an iPhone or Android smartphone, and has many features which are obviously designed with parents in mind.

The camera is HD: full colour in daylight and automatically switches to infra-red night-vision when it becomes dark. It also features 345 degree pan and 90 degree tilt, activated from the smartphone screen, to allow ultra-wide angle viewing. Output from the camera can be recorded via an SD card, which needs to be purchased separately, and it has a motion sensor which can trigger the unit to take a still picture, store images via FTP or even send an email.

The camera itself is well-built and discreet, running relatively quietly even when tilting and panning the room, and it comes in a choice of finishes: black and white.

This Keekoon unit has two-way audio, so parents can speak to their baby via their smartphone, as well as listen, which is especially useful for older babies and young children.

Wifi-connected cameras can be complicated and laborious to set up but the P2P has consistently good customer reviews on this subject. The unit comes with QR codes which can be scanned by smartphones to allow easy set-up, as well as a good instruction manual. Most customers report few problems with installation or use of the associated app, which runs on iPhone, tablets and android, but a few have had problems with bugs and crashing, or the app seeming to be incompatible with their device.

Pros

Well-built camera with HD and high quality sound
Wifi link to phone and tablet app which can run on iOS and android, allowing two-way, interactive image and sound
Infra-red night vision
Easy set-up
Recording capability

Cons

Some customers have had problems with the app – it not working on their device, being buggy, or crashing
Some customers have had problems with the camera not recognising their wifi connection
The leads supplied with the unit are relatively short
