Review Summary:

The BT300 is a budget model which concentrates on high quality two-way audio and portability for the parent's unit, and does it well. Featuring BT's distinctive brand styling and robust build quality, it is recommended for the parent who needs only basic features at an attractive price.

The 300 is the budget unit in BT’s range of baby monitors, but it has all the quality and distinctive styling that you’d expect from the BT brand. The audio is enhanced with DECT technology for reliable, clear sound, with 120 channels available for getting the link just right. Users report even being able to hear their baby breathing with the volume on a high setting. It has an impressive range of 50 metres indoors and 300 metres outdoors.

The baby’s unit plugs into the mains, giving a reliable power source in the baby’s room, and the parent’s unit takes rechargeable AA batteries for best portability and ease of recharging.

This monitor also features a low battery alert for peace of mind with the parental unit, and an out of range alarm so the parent is alerted to having no signal.

The audio is two-way allowing the parent to speak to the baby as well as listen, which can be especially useful if using the monitor for an older child or even an elderly person or pet.

BT monitors have consistently good reviews for robustness and quality of sound, but some customers of the 300 have had faulty units, with problems with the link between the two units or problems charging the batteries. These experiences seem to be much in the minority, with the majority of customers finding no problems.

This model also features a night light on the baby’s unit, but does not include video, motion, or smartphone capability.
